The SM assumes that they are massless. Therefore, particle physicists are now exploring new physics beyond the SM. There is strong anticipation that we are about to unravel it, in the form of new matter and/or forces, at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), presently running at CERN. We discuss a minimal extension of the SM, based on a somewhat larger version of its symmetry structure and particle content, that can naturally explain the existence of neutrino masses while also predicting novel signals accessible at the LHC, including a light Higgs boson, as evidenced by current data.

The g-factor of the charged leptons has always been considered by many physicists, both experimentaly as well as theoretically. In fact the electron and muon g-factor play the main role in testing the QED as well as the standard model. Meanwhile, there is a discrepancy between the standard model prediction of the muon anomalies magnetic moment and its experimental determination as large as (25...

Neutron-Anti-Neutron Oscillation: Theory and Phenomenology

The discovery of neutrino masses has provided strong hints in favor of the possibility that B-L symmetry is an intimate feature of physics beyond the standard model. I discuss how important information about this symmetry as well as other scenarios for TeV scale new physics can be obtained from the baryon number violating process, n− n̄ oscillation. This article presents an overview of different...

Beyond the Standard Model

These lectures constitute a short course in ‘Beyond the Standard Model’ for students of experimental particle physics. I discuss the general ideas which guide the construction of models of physics beyond the Standard Model. The central principle, the one which most directly motivates the search for new physics, is the search for the mechanism of the spontaneous symmetry breaking observed in the...

Investigation of thermal tunable nano metallic photonic crystal filter with mirror symmetry

Using the transfer matrix method, the effect of temperature on thetransmission spectra of thermal tunable nano metallic photonic crystal filter has beeninvestigated. Three different materials H (high refractive index material), L (lowrefractive index material) and M as a metallic layer, have been used to make thisstructure. M layer is considered to be Silver. The complex refractive index of Sil...

Beyond ‘Funnel’ and ‘Fireworks’: ‘Water Ribbed Balloon’ as a New Metaphorical Approach to Innovation-in-Practice

Product innovation success has very much to do with the development of models ormetaphors that are able to guide actors. One can observe two traditions in thisregard: rational and non-rational models. Apparently in the former the model, suchas “development funnel”, is regarded as a mechanism and rigid applicable, picturinginnovation as an orderly, goal-oriented, value-neutral, and systematic pr...
